John Deere 2155

I'm looking for opinions/comments on the JD 2155 1989-90 model. Any issues with this tractor model. Looking at one for around $10,500 with a couple of attachments. I Know the seller and history of the tractor very well. Just haven't seen the tractor in a while and I'm going to look at it this week. Seller has used it for mostly mowing or bush hogging and driveway maintenance. I'm just curious about what you boys think or any advice out there. Thanks in advance!

Okay, that's pretty much what I'm hearing and reading and I appreciate you all's opinion. Anyone else have any advice or opinion as far as value v. age and hrs. I know it depends on other specs but just curious if we are in the ballpark at 10,500?

JD 55 series are some of the best tractors JD ever produced.

I've had two 2150's and two 2155's and had not problems with any of them.

2WD or 4WD ?
Test the corrosion inhibitor in the coolant, if depleted the sleeves are developing pin holes due to cavitation.
Pull the transmission sump screen and filter. Some fine dark fiber brake or clutch material is ok. A lot of fiber material is bad news and fine shinny metal is worse.

I had a 2150 with a front end loader for years, used it mainly for bush hogging and gravel road maintenance. It was a great tractor and I never had any issues with it. It was tough. Only reason I sold it was because I needed something bigger.
