3020 propane

Did 3020 propane tractors all have the
tank through the hood, or did some look
like the 3010 with it hidden under the
hood?

A very few apparently had the fuel tank underneath the hood...had a normal gas/diesel hood. A local tractor jockey bought one earlier this year and I went and took a look at it. Doesn't look like it would hold much propane!

I am fairly certain that no 3020's had the short tank. What you more than likely saw was a gas tractor that was converted. I have seen good conversions and some real butcher jobs. Tom

Hmmm...I'll go see if the weird 3020 is still on the tractor jock's lot.

I suppose if the fuel tank valves are set-up with the shafts running through the dash and top radiator tank would about have to be a factory propane tractor?...I can't say I've ever worked on a LP 3020...worked on lots of LP 4010/4020 tractors though.

I'll go look...

No short LPG tanks or hoods without hole for tank are listed in 3020 parts catalogs

Wouldn't need a hood...gas or diesel hood...the tank is a big mystery though.

The local tractor jockey was telling me how 'rare' these were at the local dealership parts counter...of course he's selling tractors/machinery/trucks...and he has every stinking thing repainted and decaled...RARE!...RARE I tellya'!

Did/could a 3010 LP have a small non-protruding fuel tank option?

If so I would wonder if the 3020 I saw is actually a 'rare' 3010...or possibly a 3010/3020 bits and pieces lash-up...

Get the serial number. The prefix codes should tell us what fuel it left the factory with. Also, could it be a 3010 with the wrong decal???

Yes 3010 LPG had fuel tank under hood similar to the other type fuel models

Thought I saw on a tv show about a new gen collector with one. The ochard lpg tractors had the tank under the hood. And they had a row crop that was special ordered with the smaller tank.

All I have is a picture to look at now as it's 3 hours away. It's just a normal looking wide front. Not an orchard or standard. Has a loader and a cab that sets between the factory fenders. I think it's a 3010 from the picture. The hood isn't cut up just the normal dents on the nose from a loader. When I get to it I will get the serial number and verify what I have. Either way a 10 or a 20 it would be kind of rare tractor.

I went by the guy's machinery lot that had the '3020' flush tanked tractor....but it was gone. Asked him about it and he was adamant it was an original 3020.

He said he had advertised it online and it quickly sold. So no proof one way or the other from me. My guess being the one I saw was likely a 3010 sold as a 3020....
