JD 2755 3 point not going down once up

So I have another tractor with a problem for a customer. Her 3 point will go up and once she lifts it it will not go back down. It some times work for say the first 5-10 minute and then will not go down like it should. I am thinking ti could be a stuck control valve or some such thing. I will be going to look at it in the next couple os days for figure it is best yo ask questions before I get to far into it.

As any body know what and where I need to look to make sure I can get it working for her.

The valve on top of the tunnel under the seat that controls speed of three-point drop will tighten itself up on my 2355N, then the arms will not lower or will be very slow to lower. I suppose you call that the control valve, someone smarter than me will post the photo soon, i imagine ( i hope)

Ditto what K Effective stated. Rate of drop screw for 3 pt under seat is closed.

She has tried that and moved it all the way both ways and the 3 point will still not go down so any other ideas as to the problem???

What type implement is attached to 3 pt? Is L/D lever under seat set in "min" position?

Has brush hog on it. Not sure how big but it is the one they have been using on it for years. I'll have to call and ask where that lever is. But I'll almost bet it has not been moved or if it has been it would have been after the problem started

Had a 2950 that would do the same thing. Would always go up but would not go down.

Either the dipstick or the filler spout for the hydraulic fluid was under the seat. We figured out if we left the cap not completely sealed the 3 point worked fine. I guess leaving the cap loose acted as a vent. Our tractor had a cab.

This was many moons ago. Hope this helps. It worked for us.

Vent is in hyd filler cap and I've seen several plugged with dust.

I'll be going and looking at it tomorrow so will try the cap and see if that makes a difference.

Any other things to look for before getting to the point of pulling the 3 point plate/lift for what maybe wrong??

I've seen hyd breathers on similar JD utility tractors plugged before but it didn't stop 3 pt from lowering. Before removing rockshaft housing I'd advise to acquire a JD 2755 tech manual and follow the L/D mechanism adjustment steps outlined in the TM.
