Another 630 question

Thank you for the great responses to my brake
question. I have another should be quick question.
I looked around and see that there are two fender
types for a 630. The serial number is 4800's so
1959. Is it the 3010 style or the other? Is the 3010
style the same as a 3010?

I know I have much to worry about before then but
interested.

I thought a 30 series would of had the flat top style only ? Though the smaller clamshell style fit.
The 3010 style fenders will fit if you get the cast bracket that mounts to the axle housing for a 2 cyl. they are being reproduced.
If worried about original the 2 cyl. ones only had a hand hold hole on the left side only. Later ones usually have the wrong style lights in them too.

All JD Waterloo 30 series Row Crop tractors had to be order from factory with fenders, there were more sold without; [Only standard tractors had fenders in base price],, 30 series RC's could be had with clamshell or flat top with lights, both were available.. I agree with Mike , New Gen. fenders would be dif. (wrong mount, probably wrong lights, hand holds wrong).... The new aftermarket ones with correct hand holds & right, top of axle mounts could get spendy , but good originals are very very hard to find, & even more spendy.... Info..

Some states rear fenders were mandatory. At the time our fathers and grandfathers were a lot tighter with their money then we are today. So John Deere offered the shell type fenders as a cheaper alternative. The shell fenders on the 30 series cost $22.50 a pair and the crown fenders with dual lights cost $65.00 per pair. Michigan was one of the states that required fenders on each new tractor sold. john
