B filter housing stud threads

Got into more than I bargained for with this B but that's another story. Someone had overtightened the filter and broke the cast threaded neck out of the top of the filter housing. Has anyone had success brazing it back on or should I go to the salvage yard. Yes the disk is warped too. This is a late B

Lucky for me I have the block out to be bored and the frame off the front of the tractor to replace a broken frame stud so I could do most of the wrenching from the front instead of reaching down through the crankshaft from the top. I don't want this to happen again when the tractor is back together.

And Deere provided that big long 'John Deere wheel wrench' with every tractor to tighten it with. The filter on a 630 only needs a 3/4" wrench, much better.

The trouble is, people don't replace the d-ring that seals the cap. It gets hard and that's why people overtighten that cap and you get the broken
filter top.

I should have a good used unit available for sale. We get $40 for the two piece unit . Shipping is available if needed.. If interested contact me by
