Oil Guage line has a hole 720LP

Line no longer available from Deere. Will a brake line work?
And are the treads the same to fit the gauge and crankcase fitting?

Steel brake line the same diameter will work.

The "inverted flare" fittings on the brake line won't fit, though. I don't immediately see a DEERE part number for the special brass compression nuts but you should be able to find them at an auto parts store. Older vehicles used the same style fittings on oil lines.

Here's what the fittings look like:

If the hole to isn't too big and obnoxious you can braze it shut. The trick to it is to avoid getting brass inside the oil tube.

I used copper line and regular compression fittings on my "G". Just leave long enough to make 1 coil in the line to compensate for vibration.

I get mine from my local plumbing house, 3/16 copper and ferruled fittings.

I made one for my 730 with copper tubing years back... I went yesterday to Lowes, Tractor Supply, McCoy's, 3 different auto parts stores and a lawn mower shop.
Years back I got the copper at a ACE hard ware store, No ACE store here in Tomball Tx.
I will go to Magnolia they may have it there I hope.
