I was at a tractor show once with my 720D (narrow frt.) a fellow had a restored JD 4 bottom mounted plow there with his 730LP ? or 720LP ? I hooked to that plow with no added weights anywhere and cruised right along.

Dad started farming with a 70 diesel. He bought a new Oliver 4 bottom 14inch plow and got along great but our soil was lighter than yours. One night dad and a friend with a 730 diesel plowed late and the sound of those two tractors with strait pipes was heard several miles away.Nice pics thanks for posting. Tom

Ya I was thinkin the same thing.
thought a 70 would have handled a 4 furrow any day of the week.
guess its all about soil type.
very nice set up and picture

You don't show the other side of the plow. Does it have the depth-control wheel on the other side? It should since the 50, 60, and 70's didn't have hydraulic down pressure. The wheel made it possible to put the power-trol in float position and let the "suck" of the bottoms pull it down while the wheel holds the bottoms at the correct depth. I'm in the process of selling a plow like that(I think it's in the 810 series) to a guy that wants to use it with a 3010. He doesn't need the wheel so he let me take it off.

The first 70 i have seen with that frame weight on front, but haven't seen to many with 3 point hitch either.

Dad got a new four 14's mounted plow when he got the 630. The tractor always struggled with it. I still have the plow and tractor but I only use it to plow the garden. My son's friend put this plow behind his 730D and it was a match made in heaven.
