Can you tell me how to fix my throttle? When Im running my tractor and pull the throttle lever clear open - it runs fine for
maybe 30 seconds and then the lever either starts slipping back or something? It begins to run slower as I run it - I mean the
throttle does NOT stay in "wide open" position....keeps loosing RPM....is there a spring setting or something? Thanks!

Well don't ever put lubricant in the pedestal...that's a spring loaded bushing...I always put dirt or something grimy in the bushing to make it tight...might try some spray sealant....it needs to be binding in the bushing...

The upper shaft from the throttle lever has a taper on the lower end that fits into the lower shaft. Clean it, make it and the socket smooth but leave it dry when you put it back in.

U need to increase the friction on the bushing but I wouldn't put dirt or anything abrasive on it. That will cause it to wear.

Like Machineryman, I increase the friction between the throttle lever & the pedestal. I usually use a block & a pry bar to lift & hold the lever out of the tapered socket in the pedestal & then hit it with a good blast of starting fluid!

The ether runs out about 90 mile an hour taking the dissolved oil, grease & much of the dirt with it. It also evaporates about 95 mile an hour before it can attack the paint leaving the two parts dry & full of friction!

If that doesn't do the trick THEN I grab some dirt!
