Pony motor spark plugs

Is there a easy way to check if one each plug is receiving spark from the coils on a pony motor? On my 6 cylinder oliver , I can put a timing light on over each wire and if I get no light flashing, I know the plug is not getting a spark or receiving current from the distributor. Since my timing light is 12 volts, I can't use it on the pony plugs.

I know you can probably pull off a wire and see if the engine changes rpms, but on a pony this is not that easy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Why can't you use your light ? Just set a 12 volt battery close by to hook the timing light up to.

Wrong question. It sparks a pair of plugs together . Use Autolite 437. Two types of plug wires and two types of coils. Mix them up and it will be plagued with phantom igniition problems.
