6300 3 point problems

We have a JD 6300 and for the last year or so the 3 point would bounce some when using it. when you set it to a height it
would go up a little then back down.. Not enough to bother us really. I just got off of it today from mowing hay and I noticed
that if when I let the arms down they would stop at the right height then slowly leak down. It will also do this when you
raise it to a point and stop them it will slowly raise up . it goes to either all the way up or all the way down.

Is there a reasonably easy way to fix this or does it need to go to a mechanic?

Could be as simple as one of the lift cylinders has a bad O-ring or seal, or as bad as the electric over hydraulic control valve in the hydraulic valve stack has some sort of issue.

Come to think of it, those are single-acting cylinders so if they are NOT leaking externally it's got to be a control valve or stepper motor, position sensor, or electronics issue. DARN!

There is a rockshaft position feedback sensor located on the front side of the steppermotor. Check to see if the wiring connector is in place. I think however that if it is unhooked or the sensor is not working, the hitch will need to be recalibrated which requires an Operations and Tests manual and a special tool (display unit) if the tractor is open station
