can someone explain purpose of jd chopper equalizer hitch please. not following it

It greatly minimizes chatter while turning with the PTO engaged and the machine under load. We bought our 347 baler new in 1983 and wondered why that hitch was such a big deal. The baler ran smooth while turning and at full tractor RPM's. A little extra effort to hook up but the benefits are there.

Equal angle hitch increases tractor drawbar length so that when turning sharp corners up to 90° the angles exerted on each u-joint on telescoping driveline are the same therefore virtually eliminating driveline chatter as NY 986 previously stated. IMHO they are well worth the effort to install and for 540 RPM 14'' from end of pto to center of drawbar hole is correct length then install EA hitch. b IE pivot pin on installed EA hitch is same distance from both u-joints.
