I need to replace the fuel lines on my 1940 John Deere H tractor. What material should I use? Copper tubing? Steel gas line?

Any help will be appreciated. Thank You.

I did mine last year with brake line. Takes a little work, but is is the best it has ever been.
Will post a pic tomorrow if I can.

I have used both. I have also used lines from in the crankcase of other models that was close and rebent them. I cut the factory ends off near the special fitting. I then chuck it in the lathe and drill out the old line and then I can resolder in new line.

It is 5/16 OD line with the brake flare on one end next to the glass bowl and flare on carb fitting.
Just went to NAPA and found what would work. Also has a generic glass bowl like goes on a Ford 8N.
Been working fine for 2 years and this tractor gets used a lot.
