I need to pull the flywheel I don't have a "service manual" at this time. Please tell me the the sequence. The "tin nut" needs to come off- I assume it unscrews....then the two large bolts are loosened or come out and the flywheel comes off? I am trying to get to the seal to replace it. Thanks for your help.

Make sure,(if it is not already marked) to punch mark the flywheel and the end of the crank to assure correct re-assembly. Also on re-assy, make sure the flywheel engages the nub on the slinger.

One of the grooves in the flywheel is deeper than the rest and one of the splines on the crankshaft has a screw in it. The flywheel can only go on one way. Punch marks are a good idea in case the screw is missing.

(quoted from post at 20:21:47 09/11/16) ok.......BUT, the outside nut unscrews? and then the two bolts have to come out?

The nut unscrews and the two bolts only have to be loosened. The two bolts clamp the flywheel to the splines so only loosen them, you do not need to remove them.

As others have said, make note of position of the flywheel on the crank as it is balanced for one position only. You may need a puller to get it off and there should be a couple of threaded holes on the flywheel for attaching one.

Make sure to set you end play on the crank when you reinstall it.
