Water in oil

Have a 1970 4520 w/ 10' blade 7700 hours and afraid our luck just ran out. We were using as a backup on bunker silage duty last week and checked oil yesterday and it was tan, coffee w/ cream color.

Clutch is 1 year old, tires 90%, paint fair, syncro's still good, no Hollywood movie star but has been a great back up for us. Has been on the farm over 20 years.

What to do? Rebuild? By used 404 to put in, put in a 466? Has always been a bit underpowered for weight but we have got along fine working the blade.

I know its as old as the hills, a 4430 would be an upgrade. What would a rebuild cost all in?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I would consider a 466/Turbo combine engine you can get one for around 4,000 AN OVER HAUL WILL COST ABOUT 3,000 PLUS LABOR.

If your wanting it to be collectable than rebuild the 404. IF you want a much better tractor to use then get a good JD 466 and put in it. More horse power and much better starting.
