4430 Issues

I just bought another 4430. This one with a cab. Got it at a great price. Pulled her apart yesterday to replace the clutch. A/C needs some work also. I noticed the hydro cooler/condenser looks pretty banged up. Should I replace it if am going to make sure A/C works good? I noticed the cab mounts look pretty rough also. How bad of a job is this? I moved the scv that was working fine on this tractor to another that seems to be getting hydro oil extremely hot. I noticed after moving it to that it seems to heat up faster than the one on the right. Is this normal? Thanks for your input!

Heating hyd components on especially a closed center system such as this tractor indicates an intenal high pressure leak which is not a good thing. I;d suggest to get a condenser comb to attempt straightening fins or get another condenser.

The cab mounts ain't too bad to do on a 4430 if the big bolts on the back ones aren't rusted stuck. Get the bolts out both sides and with the three-point arms down set a bottle jack on the lift arm and a sturdy block of wood to protect the bottom of the cab(beside the seat well) and jack the rear of cab up slightly to change the mounts.

The fronts I usually remove the batteries and battery boxes and the mount brackets one side at a time...replace the rubber donuts and bolt the cab mount brackets back on....tighten mount bolts on the front when you have both sides replaced.

Don't over-tighten any of the mount bolts...and make sure you get everything stacked-up in proper order(big washers and such)

The 30 series condenser/oil coolers are a bit too small for a 134A Freon conversion..so anything you can do to improve the condenser's efficiency will help. If it's not leaking oil or Freon I would definitely wash it and the radiator out good and clean and straighten the fins as good as possible. Four cans 134A at most...3 to 3 1/2 cans sometimes better if the high-side pressure gets too high....

Hydraulics generate heat in use or if leaking by. A selective control valve will get hot with continuous use. The flow adjust on the scv can/will heat the oil if you keep it dialed-back on flow. If the scv is working ok(not leaking off or raising implements on it's own) it's probably ok.

Thanks for the info! I have the rear cab mounts out and had pretty good luck. I'm sure it will be harder going back with the new! Took radiator to shop to have serviced and was told fins were loose and needed a new radiator! Rather expensive but probably will help in the long run!

I put the rear cab mounts in today with good luck. Not sure how tight I should have went but they're in. Broke tractor in half and had clutch rebuilt . Everything is going pretty good but I have one remote that will deliver and hold pressure on one side but no action on the other side of same remote. Tried by hand bypassing linkage with no results. Any ideas?

Sounds as if a roller may have failed on a poppet valve or rocker screw came loose on scv. I think scv needs a rebuild & valves set. I can't remember the torque value on cab mount bolts but it's very important not to get cab mount bolts too tight
