odd colored gasoline

I'm in the process of getting my "new" 1938 G to start. It started one day and I let it run for about two or three minutes and shut it off. When I went down just the other day, it wouldn't even begin to fire. Today when I went to put a different carb on (due to excessive flooding), the gas that I drained out was a fairly bright orange color. The gas in the sediment bowl is pretty much clear like it should be. I put an inline lawnmower type filter in the line just in case the tank was really crappy, and the gas in it looks orange also. ????????????

Thanks in advance!!!

I flushed out the tank when I got it, and put new fuel lines on. The carb was from the GM that I'm restoring. I guess I never thought of rust being in the carb since I haven't used it for a little over a year.

Thanks!
