Hooked a chisel up to my tractor this afternoon to break up some bermuda sod, so that I could level the ground. Tractor is quad range. I had it in B 1 and it sounded like it stripped a gear. The tractor won't move. Shifted it to A and C and it moves just fine. Have any ideas?

My initial thoughts are, since the B range (B1 and B2) is typically the most common gear used, it is probably a bad B range gear. From my own experience, once you tear into this, it will be more involved than you think. You are likely to find other components and parts in need of attention. That is what I found in mine. It was an expensive repair, but in the end, the entire transmission was renewed/rebuilt and I know exactly what I have....................a very good and sound 37 year old tractor that should now last a great many more years. I had the choice of junking it and having to replace it, or patching it together and trading it for someone else's problem, or repairing it right. I opted to fix it right and keep it. I have no regrets.

Have you checked shift linkage under operators station to be sure it's shifting fully into B range? If it is fully in B range then a tractor split will be required to repair it.
