1020 bigger injectors

Can any bigger injectors be put in a 1020? Just trying to help a friend out, know it can be done on bigger tractors but how about one of these small ones? If so...which ones, #? types of injectors? Be fun to try and put a turbo on it too!
 
If you're looking for more fuel to increase the power, that is done by increasing the fuel setting in the injection pump. An injector change will do nothing.
 
LOL, I know that, but with bigger injectors, that can be increased even more with the pump turned up.
 
UMMM, on this injection system, the pump delivers all it can, like max capacity at full load, so an injector that flows more freely, can only flow what the pump produces, soa injector pump upgrade might be in order if that much increase is desired, and at that point injectors might need upgraded.
 
If I recall that has the pencil injectors, but may be wrong. As others have said I doubt you need bigger hole sizes yet, until the pump delivery is increased greatly. For example, on my MF Super 90 puller it started as a 68 HP tractor, with four .010 inch holes with stock fuel delivery of 68-70 CCs. It's now at 210 plus HP, with four .012 holes, one size larger than stock, pump delivering 300 CCs and a 3000 RPM limit.
 

Iirc there were turbo industrial applications with the 179 cu" three cylinder . If intercooled and revved out to 2400 or so rpm it possible could make 90+HP until the coolant gets too hot.
I would look for another larger tractor .
 
Deere 5010 used 9.5 mm pencil injectors that are slightly larger.

1020 came with injectors with four holes - each .012" and a valve-lift of .0135" (Stanadyne # 17427)

5010 came with injectors with four holes - each .014" and a valve-lift of .0135"(Stanadyne # 17708)

Seems obvious that the 5010s could flow more IF the pump was turned up to send more fuel to them.
