John Deere M

I was wondering if someone would know what the minimum wheel width set up for a John Deere M, L and 40 are. I want to use one of these old tractors to set food plots in my woods and I don't need a ton of power just one I can set for a 36" tire width.
Any info is greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

The minimum tread width (center to center) setting for the standard M is 38" and I would assume that the 40S would be the same. The overall width to the outside of the tires would be about a foot more. I don't know about the L but would guess that its minimum tread would be roughly the same but with a slightly narrower overall width due to the skinnier tires.

Reviewed the JOHN DEERE TRACTOR DATA BOOK in the [b:654c4848f0][i:654c4848f0]John Deere Model 40[/i:654c4848f0][/b:654c4848f0] section under the [b:654c4848f0]Model 40S Standard Characteristics:[/b:654c4848f0] heading.

Rear tread.....38.75 to 55.75 inches

Hope this helps.

Don't forget on the L series you can't add 3 pt. hitch. This will limit its abilities unless you can find one with all the implements you need in one deal.
