I previously posted about a 2840 suddenly losing power steering, and got several good/helpful replies. Finally tore into the thing today and found the the PS hydraulic cylinder piston had become unscrewed from the rod, and were totally separated.
Cleaned it up, screwed the parts back together after degreasing them and using some Loctite primer and high-strength Loctite, and all is well, just an unusually simple fix! The cylinder is located below the valve in the drawing that Tx Jim posted in the original thread.
As always, thanks to those who responded!
