Sickle mower price

I am looking at a no. 38 sickle mower coming up at an auction. It looks to be in pretty good shape and is almost complete. I will need the mounts that bolt onto the tractor draw bar. (I am planning to mount it on a 620). What should I expect to pay for something like this?

Since this mower is "[i:654c4848f0]coming up at an auction[/i:654c4848f0]" and not being sold by an individual or dealer, then probably in the $100 to $200 range.

Unless you can see the mower in operation, then it might be difficult to determine what repairs/replacements/improvements need to be made.

Hope this helps.

This spring I was at an auction that had a complete three point sickle mower. I forgot what model it was, but it was newer than a 38 and it went for $45 bucks!

Personally, I would recommend the 350 mower but you'll need to modify lift arm to fit on the 620. Have installed a couple of them and they are the best of the sickles...

If the mower has the wrong brackets any good shop should be able to make them work or build you a new set. My 38 had some very odd brackets and we changed them to make it work on my 2510 and 3020.A good 38 can bring $300 but often you can buy them for around $100-150. If it has a good Deere hyd cylinder that can add even more to the price. Tom

I made my brackets using some thick wall pipe and 5/8"x6"x10" plateif id kept the 38 id be able to give measurements.i took sway blocks off and used heavy cardboard n magick marker to mark the holes seems like 3 bolts per side
