I wonder if there is available a wiring diagram for the ignition switch? I have a wire that comes from the low oil pressure shut down switch on the pony motor and I'm not sure where it should be connected? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

There are several pics of wiring in the parts book which can be found online at JDparts.deere.com It starts on page 40-32 when you get to the parts catalog. When you get on the first page of the site, select "previous parts catalog" or something to that effect. It will take you to a page where you type in the model number, i.e., 830. It will be in PDF format. I think it is also shown in the operator's manual.

Sorry, I gave you the page numbers for the electric start. The cranking engine referred to as "C.E." in the parts book, will be back a few pages.

Hello Deeretails and thank you for the info. I hooked the loose wire up as you suggested, bolted the instrument panel back in the dash and put the removed battery cable back on the battery post. When I turned the switch to the start position the resistor on the switch got warm/hot. When I pushed the starter button the pony motor turned over as it should. What do you think?
