We have a 1965 John Deere 1010 tractor and the steering is starting to get very loose. It is our primary tractor on our hobby farm and I realize as an old tractor the steering is going to be a little loose but within the last couple of years it has really gone down hill. The tie-rods and ball joints were replaced a couple of years ago so they should be good and we just replaced all the front wheel bearings two days ago. What could be the cause or what should I look for? Does the power steering motor need rebuilt? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

The steering shaft coupling's key way , the key and the input shaft key way are likely all wallowed and chewed to bits. Stieners have the coupling . We machined a straight key way in the steering box shaft and a stepped key.
