Anyone have to machine a new clutch driving pin, C404R, for their belt pulley on a JD two cylinder? Do you think a worn out pin would cause the slot in the clutch sleeve where the fork goes into to ware enough to cause it to be out of round?
Some sound advice from the guys that practically see it all would help. Awhile back I've had all the clutch lever and linkage tightened up, and again, after tightening the endplay to .010, I've made aware a new problem that was maybe there all along, now the clutch lever bounces pretty consistently when engaged. I have had a new pin machined, and now the clutch works like it's suppose to, but again, lever bounces.
Literally I can see the pulley maybe moving slightly in and out. When I put full forward pressure on the clutch lever when engaged and tractor running, it seems to stop it, like the fork assembly is pushing the sleeve fully outward. Is it the pulley bushing? I ordered one just to get rid of a variable, and because the original one looks pretty rough.
Again, the expert's advice that has had these two cylinder JD clutches apart quite a bit would be appreciated. I'm sure they have seen this.
