A couple months ago my brother, son and I picked up a model 70 to fix up and use on the property for maintaining the road, snow removal, mowing, etc. We knew nothing about these tractors so it's been a real learning experience! The previous owners had owned it since the mid 80's, but had purchased a new tractor so the 70 had been sitting for several years. It came with a DuAll loader with a grapple and a 6' rear blade. The tires were shot and the tractor had several leaks and was covered in grease - it wasn't pretty. As far as I could tell, everything worked though. When we got it home we unloaded it from the trailer with no problems. The next day I went out to move it and the clutch was not working. After tearing it apart we discovered that the brass shift fork had exploded and destroyed the sleeve. I purchased a used clutch drum assembly, shift fork and new disks, and put it back together. We then fixed all the leaks, changed all the fluids, cleaned it up and painted it. We also purchased a used set of rear rims and tires because we needed to road it about 5 miles to the property. All that's left to do is prep and paint the loader and we're all done. We didn't do a restoration, just wanted it cleaned up and painted so it wouldn't rust. Here's what it looks like now.
