2840 load control shaft

I need to change the seals on load control shaft. If I understand it right seals can be changed by sliding shaft from left to right. Can the bushings be changed without removing the shaft? Do the bushings have an O ring in them or is this an undated version ? If I have an old style bushing without the O ring Can the bushings be pulled without removing the shaft? Thanks, Bob

It appears 2840 has a removable housing that contains bushing. Yes seal fits in groove in bushings. It appears one needs your tractors serial number for correct parts.

In this case, you may be best served to speak to the parts guru at your dealership- I have changed these seals in several tractors, and then have gone back to change the shaft in one of them when it continued to leak as bad or worse than before. IIRC, there was an "improved" seal available for the 2630, which made up for shaft wear and was productive on the first try. Might be the same for the 2840, I'm not sure. As TxJim shows, the original parts are listed on JDParts.com, and you can Google those numbers for other sellers as well.
