'49 B Battery box question

I'm reassembling my B and noticed this small (about 3/8") hole in the front of the battery box. Is this hole normally used for something, such as a clamp for the battery cable? I can't find anything definite in the parts book, but it isn't very easy to interpret in this area!

Any help appreciated!

The 50 B I owned had a 1/4 screw in that hole that attached / secured the negative cable
like you said. But the retainer mine had was from electrical conduit. Never knew for sure
if it was the correct part but it worked fine.

I believe this was a generic box and used on other models believe some hydraulic lines fastened there on some models.
