JD Model A Problem

I was out discing with my 46 model A, it was running good and putt putting like normal. I stopped and cut it off so I could pick up some rocks, I get back on it 5 minutes later and the only way I could keep it running was pull the choke 2/3 of the way out, if I push it in the tractor dies. I can't figure out what happened in 5 minutes to make it do this. It has clean gas in it, anybody ever had this problem??? BTW, It has the all fuel carb on it

Doesn't mater how clean the gas is in it "now"....it's what it had in the past that counts and also how much water/rust in idle and load passages. All fuel carb has nothing to do with it. Just happened to be "it's time" as rust particles will flow and pile up just like a persons blood vessels . Your tractor just had a "stroke" so to speak. My e-mail is open if you need more info or re-build.

Unscrew the sediment bowl and see if rust has clogged up the top of the inlet. When it's working in the field the rust may have stayed in suspension, and then settles when you stop. I've had my share of gasoline running down into my armpit while trying to clean it out while I'm out working.
