That Bulletin shows you how to Full Field the Generator to see if non charging is the fault of the genny itself or may be more of a Voltage Regulator problem. It has other tests as well as a good description of the 24 volt system, best JD publication out there to help diagnose and troubleshoot the system AND MUCH BETTER WITH ITS PICTURES AND ILLUSTRATIONS then us typing it out lol

The bulletin has some good details and a good wiring diagram. However, it over simplifies the theory of operation to the point that it is misleading. For a better explanation with pictures call Richard at Green Magazine and ask for my 24 Volt article in the November 2012 issue.

Factory service manual is fine . Do not however touch that 24V "positive ground " fiasco printed in
Green Magazine with a 10 foot pole .

Joe we have all made mistakes in life , myself some spectacular errors. Please would you just drop that 24V positive ground idea once and for all time .
