Keeping Water Out of the Transmission-A-G

Tractors sitting outside in the rain seem to catch water in the transmission from water running down around the Hi-Lo and PTO levers
on the earlier A's and all G's. The picture is to show how we have minimized this problem. I found these tie-rod boots in a package of two at the local auto parts store. One is 3/4" and one is 5/8" I.D. Slip them down over the levers. Perfect fit. The hose clamp is just to hold the rubber down. Cost is about $5.00 per set.

That a good idea.
If you still get some water in many of the bolts for the top covers go all the way thru. I use silicon sealer on the bolt threads as to hope keep the oil in and water out.

Good idea. It looks factory. Another idea I saw on a tractor is a toilet plunger mounted upside down to hold a can of soda. It was mounted on a tractor as a kind of a joke but to me it looks like about as good as you can get. I imagine the one I saw is New and never used for it's intended purpose?
