3020 Front Drawbar Support Pin

I'm changing the load control shaft, bushings, and seals and decided to put bushings in the drawbar support. How does the front pin come out? I see a roll pin but I think that just holds the bushing in. Is the pin a really tight press fit? With limited room to hold a punch and get a good swing, I'm having a hard time getting it to move... Any advice is appreciated!
Thanks,
Lon

The top of the pin has a strap on it that comes down with the pin and then rotates and fits in a slot. Hard to describe. Rotate the strap to where it lines up with the slot and push the pin up with finger. DON't move the drawbar with your finger up in the hole! Pin will come out to the top. DO NOT HAMMER. LOOK at JDparts.com for picture of the pin.

Roger,
I have the drawbar itself removed, but now am dealing with the pin that attaches the drawbar support (wishbone) to the transmission case. I apologize that I hadn't explained where I meant better in my original post.
Thank You

That pin is just tight fit in the hole I use a hard 5/8 bolt held with a vise grip to drive Them out.If you try to use a punch that is to small it will just bounce when you hit it.

Frt drawbar support attaching pin is secured by a roll pin driven in a blind hole. As M w j stated one has to utilize a punch and big hammer to break roll pin while driving attaching pin out.

The roll pin does not secure the pin, it holds the bushing from turning. The pin is just a press fit. An air hammer with a 1/2 inch punch bit will drive it out easily. Otherwise a big hammer and a stout punch with a few choice words.

I did that on the 4020 been years though. I'm pretty sure that roll pin does hold the horz. mounted pin. I was able to drive roll pin up in there enough until it hit casting then it was out enough I could then drive the pin out.

You are doing a good job by replacing everything. I replace the pin and the bushing, there is also a set of bushings in the carrier where the load shaft goes thru that I replace on high hour high use three point tractors. They are a tapered bushing so if you chose to replace them check which way the taper is. How well does your drawbar pin fit the wishbone? On the latter tractors there was a bushing for the top side and on an early one that is worn I take the wishbone to a machine shop and have them drilled and install the latter bushing. On the loadshaft there is an aftermarket seal much better than Deere. I get mine from a seller on ebay from IN. They use a Deere seal off a newer tractor and they machine a holder for that seal. It is much better than the original. But if you install a new shaft, bushings with the o-rings and new factory seals they will last for years.Make sure you get shims and take all side to side play out when putting back together.I recently did a 1968 4020 that had never been done before, it had the original bushings without the o-rings and has 6000 original hours. Thank you all for your advice. I was able to drive the horizontal pin out with a 5/8" bolt held by a vice grips. That idea made life much easier! I got the bushings all torched and driven out, and installed new bushings, front and back, after keeping them in the freezer overnight. I also put in the new style load shaft bushings and seals from the fellow in Indiana. These bushings have an o-ring and the seal holder has a replaceable purple inner seal. Both the seal inner and o-ring are available through Deere and fit the specially designed holder and bushing. I also put in a new load control shaft from Deere. I took all side to side play out of the support with shim washers, and it is nice and snug once again! The drawbar and front drawbar pin are a little sloppy, but I'll live with that for now.
Thanks again,
Lon

That roll pin does Not hold the horz. mounted pin in it only holds the bushing in the casting from turning . That roll pin is 0.625 in. long less then 3 qtrs. of an inch.
