2020 won't steer

i have a john deere 2020 that has been sitting outside for about a year. i just got it running again and i had to replace on of the steel hydraulic hoses on the front so i know its about 4 gallons low on hydro fluid. the loader and rear linkage lifts fine but the steering is not working. does something need to be bled?

Cycling steering will bleed air out of steering system? 2020's that have a serial number below 045,200 have open-center steering with a steering pump mounted on RH frt of engine.

I think I would try replacing the fluid first as you will have to do that anyway.Or if it is a separate system it may be low also. Always try the cheper/easier possible fix first.

Open center hyd steering utilizes the same sump(trans) as the closed center hyd's
