My guess is yes - but why not just buy the gas starter they sell to be sure? Both starts have two-bolt mounts, both are clockwise rotation, and both have 10 tooth
drives. Seems assuming the flywheel ring-gear is the same part # for gas or diesel, it would have to fit.

I've had trouble with those GR diesel starters fitting three-cylinder Deere diesels because the fuel-pump gets in the way. No issue on four-cylinders. I don't own a gas
engine Deere (except my 1010) so don't remember if the gas engine has anything extra in the way of the starter.

3 cyl. gas engines have about the same pump in the same location and yes it is in the way.
