39 b death wobble

I am working on my b serial number 72886 that has the death wobble in the front tires when driving. I removed the cap on the pedestal and can move the spindle side to side. I looked on parts and it only shows abushing on the bottom? Is this correct. I come up with bushing b545r but does not appear to be available, does anybody have any incite on this thank you

I get the above number for that unless we are talking about two different things. Farm Power Restoration shows one for $38.

There should be a eccentric bushing on top of the pedestal. Look down past the gear, remove the small bolt and then turn the eccentric to remove the play at the top bushing, reinstall bolt.

You can turn the eccentric bushing to take out the slop but I did that to mine and it still wobbled. I had to pull my eccentric bushing and add shims under mine and got out my spindle slop. Jack the front of your tractor off the ground and let it down and measure how much movement it moves and then you know how much shims to add under your eccentric bushing. By doing that to mine it took the wobble out. If you can get ahold of a SM 2004 manual it will show you how to make all the adjustments.

The parts are worn out at the top, the bushing and gear. if you turn the bushing then it might to hard to turn
