Was the 70 John Deere the No 1 selling two cylinder tractor? There are 3,000 of them listed in the Registry if you add up all 3 listing, I run one as a kid!

I am thinking that the B followed by the A are number 1 and number 2 respectively. I also think that there were more 60's than 70's built.

I think mr thinkers almanac claims they built more Bs than any other two cylinder, I think they made the least 80s of any two cylinder. I believe they both take the same battery box as well!

According to "Mr. Thinker's John Deere Almanac", the top 20 models are as follows: The model "B" had the greatest production number (over 300,000), followed in order by the "A", 4020, 3020, "G", "H", 60, 4010, 2010, "M", 3010, 1010, 70 (41,029 units made), 40, 50, "GP", 730, 420, and 720 (25,573 units made).

You left out the D. They sold about 159,000 units. That would place it ahead of most of those tractors in your list.

greenenvy, you are absolutely correct. My mistake. I should have double-checked before I hit "send".

The "D" was third on the list, just behind the "A" and ahead of the 4020. Sorry for the screw-up.

Had a 70 Diesel and one of the last 420's down the line. That 420 had a lot of 430 parts in it. Two very nice tractors

They are but I rather have a 720 or 730. Part of the reason you see more 70s is because they were made longer then the other two.
