557 baler hydraulics

Okay, sort of a different thread for me: an acquaintance nearby has a 557 baler that busted a hydraulic line. He replaced it, refilled his tractor reservoir, and now, the cylinders make all kinds of noise when it comes time to eject the bale, and it moves very sluggishly. He says he has attempted to bleed the lines at the fittings. Anybody have experience with these as to how best be sure the air is out of the lines? Thanks, Hugh

Cycling tailgate up/down several times should purge any air from baler hyd system UNLESS some foreign object possible dirt has entered pressure control valve. There are 2 screens(parts key 3)in tension valve that could be stopped up.

hi I have seen many times the check valves in this block get debris in it also the density cylinder can have the seals blow and go through the system and block the check valves, check the male couplers should have a reducer in one of them if the baler is screaming with the tail door moving it's possible you have a density issue in the cylinders
