14 T knotting issue

I have a 14T and about every 8-10th bale that it kicks out, one side of the bales doesn't get tied. It makes a knot, but the other end doesn't seem to get tied in with it. I have searched this forum and haven''t found anything with the same issue. Suggestions? The side with the flywheel ties fine.

There's a section in the OM showing photos of various dropped knots and what causes the issue. Do you have an OM?

That being said it MAY be a billhook wear or tension issue, or simply where the needle is dropping the twine. Also, check the tucker finger for damage, proper adjustment, and free movement.

I had an issue like this with my 336, but it only missed 3 or 4 bales per load. I tried this and tried that with no luck. In the end I finally realized that the frame was wore out. Well to be more specific where the bill hook rotates there was a groove worn into the casting where the roller on the hook would ride. With this being worn like that it did not allow the bill hook to open all the way to grab both of the twine. I was able to weld it up and grind it down and what a worlds of a difference did that make.

I also compared it to the other side that was tying perfectly, this side had some wear in it, but not nearly the wear the side that was missing had. Needless to say I welded both up and it took care of my issues.
