putting 36 d back together again, head problem. I can't remember and can't find in Manuel the torque for connecting rod bolts. thanks for any help.

JD 'D' Connecting Rod from a three speed "D". If the Diam. of the Rod bolt is 9/16 Diam.............Torque is 100 FT.Lbs.
All JD'Ds" with a three speed transmission that I have worked on have had 9/16 Diam. Connecting Rod Bolts.
Some Connecting Rods (three speed transmissions)have INSERT SHELLS and some Rods are Babbited.
With all do respect, if an Owner uses a different Torque that is their prerogative......the 100 Ft.Lbs. spec. is a number written in a JD'D' Parts catalogue from 1939 that was used by a service mechanic.
