8760 fuel solenoid

My 8760 fuel solenoid would not open all the time and would not start unless you held it open while someone else started it, Deere was out and replaced it last fall and it worked for packing silage and at the end of planting it started to act up again. Sometimes it will not shut off . It is getting 12 volts and is grounded good. It was around $340.00 for the part . Has any one else had trouble with them?

ours went 2 falls ago when i was working ground, going through the field and like you turned off the key, had to be great for the hot engine, solenoid was so hot i burned my finger when i touched it, did get it started to cool down then left in field till we got the new solenoid a couple days later. haven't had any problems since with it.
