JD-G steering problem

I have a 1950 JD-G, it has a narrow front with the rollaflex wheels. I don't use it for farm work sat all winter waiting for tractor pulling season. Took it out try as I might the steering bound up so tight when I tried to turn it to the right could not budge it. The left seems to be ok. I jacked up the front it turns freely either way, I made sure it had grease, took off the front cover where the worm gear comes from the steering wheel all appears well no missing teeth etc. Would much appreciate any thoughts on this. Thanks

It might be the washer # 30 in the diagram. They sometimes wear thin and start to double up on you.

Appreciate the reply. The whole assembly has to come off in order to get at the that washer and possibly the bearings? I've taken those apart before all the top tin work and the front pedestal have all got to come off? Thanks

If you have a good loader you can raise them up and drop the shaft out. You only need to take the nose cover off then. Did it this way a couple of times before.
