I have a wueation regarding the john deere hyd
couplers vs the iso couplers. I replaced the seals in
my one set and the right side is leaking worse now.
And the centet steel ball is leaking to now. I am half
tempted to swap them over to iso couplers from
Deere with their kit. Ive heard some folks say the iso
couplers leak. But an old timer I know said they will
be fine as long as I dont put the square ring style
seals in and I use orings and teflon backup rings.
The sleeves and top small springs and thr back
center seals need to be replaced on these Deere
style couplers as it is. I have the iso couplers on my
730 diesel and they work just fine. Whats folks
thoughts in this conversion?

They work out good, but they use the same barrel seals as the original couplers, and that is where the problem can be, I use a different kind of seal, using a quad ring and a solid back up ring,, the spiral back up rings tend to let the tail or end of the spiral hang down a bit then as the barrel is inserted the tail crosses over the o-ring letting oil follow through there. If you want to sent it to me I can go through them and use the ISO kit, Bench test it under full pressure to prove it,, you will be happy with the result.

Yes we are talking about the coupler on the rear..Mail me and we can discuss it,, I am in Central Ohio, I do 8-10 of them a week here.

TimS did mine for a '71. Been using it over the last year or so and they are working perfectly, no drips, lifting augers, hydraulic motor on the seed wagon and using it to work on the planter, it's a little smaller tractor to move the planter in the shop.

Hi Tim S. I tried emailing ya a few times and I havent heard anything back. I was woundering how much to accomplish mod on a 4020 and how much to accomplish on a 4230?
