JD 4020 gas engine swap

Hello, we have a old 4020 gasser that's been sitting for a few years now. The reason we parked it was because it was starting to use oil and one day when we went to start it it acted like it didn't have any compression. So as the spare it was, we parked it and "forgot" about it. We have been talking about putting a diesel in it for a couple years now and using it around the yard and as a auger tractor. However I do a little bit of pulling too, mainly with 2 cylinders though. So I was doing a bit of looking online, a 404 is supposed to fit right in that 4020 without much modification. I'm not a big fan of the rotary pumps so is it possible to put a 404 out of a 4430 in it? Also as the 4430 uses the same 404 as the 4630's, but the 4630 is intercooled if I remember right. So will a 404 with a intercooler out of a 4630 fit as well? I was just unsure as what will fit under the tinwork as well. I thought of putting a 466 in it but then you are talking a little more money and I understand some work with the frame rails too. Anyways, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this. Thank you and any help or input is appreciated.

Yes a swap can be made with a 404 or the 466, only the very late 466's had a different bolt pattern,,mail me and I can help you with your Ideas..
