380D forklift parts

Not home with it yet but it does run good! Need a few parts like the top battery cover. Thought it was just like any other Deere of that type but it's a different part number. Anyone know of a forklift graveyard or someone parting out a 380?

There's a lot of parts still available from Deere. Some of the internal parts interchange with other machines of that time. We have two 480B's and an extra machine for parts. That's how much we like those old forklifts. We push brush in our orchard with the first one we got back in the '80's. It's still going strong. Make sure the clutch pack engages properly. If you check everything out it should work fine.

The clutch pack is hydraulic so you can feather the clutch or release it fully and the clutch will gradually apply. You want to feel a definitive engagement and no slipping. You use the shuttle lever for forward and reverse without clutching. Shuttle in lower gears to avoid stress in the driveline. It would be wise to change the hydraulic oil.

Did not need to change oil in transmission, found it had none! After changing both filters, servicing with new oil and letting it run for a while it seemed to shift good. I'll check it out more when I get it home
