Hey all,
My 4430 won't run my new-to-me 6 row 7200 vacuum planter. Well, it will, but not for long. I changed the oil filter and it seems to have been clean. I have a power beyond block, but whoever installed it put it on the RH remote. I am running the vacuum on the block, but returning the oil to sump through a separate fitting. When the tractor is running, it will run the vac at 1500 rpm, but won't lift the planter at the same time. I have 2400 PSI out the block. I plugged my pressure tester into a remote with the vac running and get no pressure until I reach 1500 RPM, then I get 500-1000 psi. I can get 2400 psi at PTO speed.
I've been told I need to move the power beyond to the left side and not use the sump fitting in order to get it to work. Is this right? I've also been told by another person that a 4430 will never be able to run a vacuum planter - not enough oil capacity.
For now, I'm pulling it with my 4840 with power beyond and it works like a champ. But, it gets old switching implements constantly, especially when I now have the 4430 sitting. That, and a 4840 is a bit overkill on a 6 row planter.
Advice?
