We are restoring an h, after installing the oil pump and cam i noticed the gear fit is not very tight. I see no way to adjust this, unless we are supposed to shim the pump height? maybe a worm drive gear set does not need to be as tight as a bevel gear set. I did use a oil pump parts from another tractor was there a serial number split on the pump drive gear?

gears look good, thanks for the second opinion, lots of money invested and I don't want to make any mistakes.

Mine had a bad left camshaft bearing that let the shaft to go out of line. It caused the tappets, cams, worm, and gears to wear badly. But the pump still worked.
