Oil leak on lift shaft

I have a few drops of oil coming from the lower lift arm, ball attaching shaft, that comes out of the transmission housing. This is on my JD 401 industrial ( 2030 ag tractor) I know it will only get worse. I guess there must be a nut holding the shaft in place. Is it a big job to get at that nut? Stan

Some earlier L/D shafts had nuts but from viewing 401 PC it appears it has a collar with a pin holding draft links in place. You'll need to drain trans oil, place L?D lever under seat in "D"(if it's not currently located there) then remove draft arms & shaft. Upon reassembly shim all side motion out of shaft & draft links with thrust or machinery washers.

Thanks a lot for that information. I was thinking I would need to take the side apart like I had to do on my MF with the nut on the inside. It helps to know the part name. I had my parts book, but could not find that page. Just in a big hurry I guess. I can put up with a little oil leak until I finish my work, and have more time. Stan
