Alternative ways of removing p.s. pump on 70

Okay, it's time for me to put all my new
parts into my 70's power steering pump. Rich
Duane really fixed me up! My question is, in
removing the pump, can you unbolt the whole
governor and related assembly instead of
undoing the radiator lines? I've got a leak
on the end of the tube nearest the governor,
might have to do some unbolting anyway. Any
thoughts? Thanks, Hugh

Hugh,

That is the way I did it on my 70 last summer. Ended up working on it most of the summer do to a seemingly unrelated problem I caused while removing the choke control rod. Took a lot of time and head scratching to figure that one out. Just know that you have to get the gov set right as it will get moved in the process, but not a real bad job.
