Wico XB Troubles

Question:

Any way to convert a WICO XB distributor (the one that looks like a mag) to electronic ignition?

My dad has to clean the points on his 51 B if it sits for a couple weeks. Really annoys him.

I see Pertronix makes a kit for the Delco distributor. If there is nothing for the XB, can he convert to the Delco?

Yes he can convert to a Delco. A smart move in my opinion. When converting, make sure you get the clamps that the bolts go through to hold the Delco, also you will need a coil bracket. If installing the Pertronix unit, I recommend also getting their "Flame thrower" coil to go with it.

i have delco dist on hand all there to fit a B JD and coil no need for flame thrower coil it will start and run right call me at 605 270 1844

Thanks for the offer, but apparently it doesn't annoy him as much as I (or he) thought. He doesn't want to buy a distributor. Says he'll just clean the points after it sets too long; or try a new set some day. LOL
