After many years I finally got my LA respectable enough to take out and use. Put the L-118 plow on it and did some plowing this past weekend. I however had an issue trying to get the wiring all set up. Got a good wiring kit from Agri-Service and a new amp gauge. I made sure everything had good ground. Got everything to work the other night but then when I went to plow the other day I touched the wires while turning on the fuel and made an arc at the amp gauge. Looked things over further and everything was wired correct but the new gauge had plastic on the hold downs that seemed to have melted. I went back and looked at the old broken gauge and the hold down did not have plastic grommets. Does the gauge hold down need to have insulators? I am still not sure how/why it arced but it melted the insulators and I am sure it damaged the gauge. No, this was not a cheapo ebay gauge. This was a high dollar replica from a respected source. Any help is much appreciated.
