1970 4000Diesel oil pan

Yesterday noticed oil dripping from rear of oil pan on 4000 Diesel. Felt around and there is what appears to be a weep hole in the middle of the bottom rear of pan. Is this to collect leak-by from rear main seal? The little hole appears to be about 1/16" diameter. I am guessing rear main seal and since it has never been changed a clutch job?

Sounds like a rear main seal. Make sure it is engine oil and not hyd oil. If hyd oil it could be the pto enguagement pins or the seal on the two clutch shafts. On a 1969 or newer Deere we always replace the pto pins,o-rings and back up washers when doing a clutch. Tom

Looked closer and it is trans-hydraulic oil. Will it leak or at least slower if pto not used? Is loader tractor and a few loader rocks need picking.
